The relevant source of fuel for the cement industry in South Africa is coal. However, cement manufacturers also use alternative fuels made from industrial and hazardous waste streams to replace a portion of this conventional fossil fuel to heat the kiln.
At Oricol, we have developed the capacity to produce high quality, homogeneous, chemically stable fuels from waste that allow cement producers to control the supply of energy to the kiln.

After the collected wastes are processed to provide custom made fuels for the cement process, the material is tested to ensure it meets specifications. The material is then transported to the cement plant, providing a stable flow of fuel to the kiln.
The cement manufacturer then stores and handles the waste in an environmentally responsible manner and in accordance with the Waste Management License.
